ISLAMABAD: The government has come up with a plan to tackle Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 2 sit-in that aims to lockdown the federal capital.
According to a local TV channel, the government has issued orders to place the central leaders of PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) under house arrest – two days before the sit-in. It has also been decided to detain PTI’s active party workers ahead of sit-in.
Apart from that, the Islamabad’s administration is considering shutting Lahore-Islamabad motorway to stop protesters from reaching the city. Meanwhile, Imran has already warned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of stern consequences if the government attempts to stop PTI’s peaceful protest ‘by any means’.
He urged the general public from across the nation to come out of their houses and support the party’s drive against corruption. The PTI chairman has already clarified that this time, the siege of the federal capital would continue until either Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns or accepts the party’s Terms of References (ToR).
