LAHORE – According to the sources privy to the process of appointment of the Vice Chancellors at the four public sector universities of the Punjab, the chief minister has decided to appoint Dr Zakria Zakar, Dean Faculty of Behavioral Sciences, as the Vice Chancellor of the University of the Punjab.
For University of Sargodha (UoS), the CM has finalised the name of Dr Tahir Kamran. Summary in this regard is being prepared for CM’s signature. The CM has not yet finalised the names of the vice chancellors for LCWU and Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology, Multan.
It is important to note that of the 12 shortlisted candidates for the four universities, the Search Committee has given lowest marks to Dr Mujahid Kamran. Of the three shortlisted candidates for Punjab University, the Search Committee gave highest marks to Dr Zakria Zakar, followed by Dr Zafar Moeen Nasar.
